Sixth of the Sun is an Australian soul/R&B band formed in Magandjin/Brisbane in 2022. The group is fronted by vocalist Chelle Furness, originating from Tshwane/Pretoria, South Africa. Her style distinguished for its candid reconciliations with a harsh history of immigration, developing chronic illness at a young age, and standing in the power of queer identity.
She is joined by instrumentalists Casey Glennen (electric bass), Daniel Booth (electric guitar) and Tyler Shilling (drums). They are frequently joined by vocalists Rosa Mack and Melanie G, performing captivating three-part-harmonies as well as auxiliary percussion.
